The ongoing debate on whether gun control is necessary in this country is still continuing as countless lives are being taken by the hands of violent individuals. A law that was meant to allow people to protect themselves from harm has quickly backfired. The amount of mass shootings and massacres occurring the United States seems to only get worse and worse. However, there is always going to be two sides to an argument. Some people strongly believe that if we change and enforce stricter gun laws they will be giving up their freedom. Others think that by enforcing these laws the rate of mass shootings will go down and overall gun violence will be decreased. There is no sure solution to a tremendous problem as this one but in the meantime political ads for gun reform have been released more and more over the years.

This image directed by Floyd Russ was a part of a series of other gun control ads. The photograph shows a numerous amount of bodies on the floor that seem to be victims of a mass shooting being found by other people with flashlights. The use of flashlights may indicate that the people are police. It is not clear as to why the group of people were killed but if you look closely there is a man standing with his hands up surrendering to the people with the flashlights. The audience for this image may be targeted to people unaware of the lack of gun laws or maybe just the general public. The director of this image purposely included more than one victim to spark sadness in the viewer and to show how out of control this problem has gotten.
